The Struggle

daylight hits her face and she rises
....it's morning again
a plate, a shower, and then a thought
she dreads the leaving but hates to stay

cause its another day of dragging along
another day of just making it
a job, a class, and maybe an art
"im like a robot - there is no change"

"and this whole life arranged is just
another way to keep us all at pace"
the poor, the weak, the Jones
our daily survival fight in society

leave those with big priorities
gasping for air to breathe
a fall, recession, and then depression
people wishing they were above

and for those who are in love
the stepping stone gets harder
the bliss, the loss, and then a choice
hearts or dreams? it ain't all what it seems

reality, as she lays down to sleep
noodles and water as her daily treat
no money. no lovher. no sympathy
for she chose to live independently

the struggle.
